I cleaned out and made a pile to give to my daughter with a hand-me-down sewing machine she has started to show an interest in having. I think that's the only way to really deplete the stash, give some of it away -- pile it up and get it out of the house. Otherwise, if you think about it, considering how little fabric goes into a quilt, trying to deplete a stash by making quilts would take decades (and that's only if you buy absolutely no new fabric over all those years). <br />I love this red, white and blue star quilt.
