2009 UFO Challenge

An online quilt group that I belong to has started their 2009 UFO Challenge! For this challenge, I was to pick 15 of my UFO's and complete them by June 30th! The hard part was choosing just 15! I'm sorry to admit I have many more than 15 unfinished projects. But I have been chipping away at my stack of UFO's over the past 2 years, and it is getting smaller (although hard to tell!!). In addition, I've been trying to use up lots of fabric in my stash...you know, to make room for all of the new pretties coming out! The blocks in the photo are from one of my UFO's. It is a scrappy pineapple block using up some of my blues, greens, and white "leftovers". I am always amazed at how many quilt tops I can make from a little drawer of scraps. Just doesn't seem to make much of a difference in the volume of scraps...I'm convinced they must be reproducing in the bin...or something! Do you have UFO's to complete?

I have a few UFO's, but mostly I have projects sitting in stacks waiting on me to get started.
I love that pattern. Is that a traditional pineapple block? I've never made one but have always wanted to.
Good luck on finishing up those projects! What a feeling of accomplishment you'll have when your done!

I won't bore you with my list of hundreds of UFO's LOL. I had a hard time too Conni mostly because I didn't know what I'd feel like working on at any given time so I picked some of my favorites and figured if they get done, bravo, if not, i'll put them on the next challenge list. I gotta do my BOM's too.....

I love your pineapple top so far....any idea what you'll do with it?

Wow! That top is going to wonderful! I love scrappy quilts, and I have also always wanted to try the pineapple block! I can't wait to see it finished!

What's up with scraps? I feel like I'm always making something, "to use up scraps" but amount in my bin keeps growing and growing!

Those blocks are beautiful, and I love the blues. I agree with another comment - the scrap piles just seem to multiply.

Conni, your blocks are pretty on their own. They are going to make an awesome quilt. Did you foundation piece them because they look perfect. Good job!
