Step by Step

In an effort to shed some weight, I recently invested in a pedometer. The first goal is to take 10,000 steps each day. This sounds easy enough, but it was "harder" than I thought! Especially when you think you get quite a bit of movement in during the course of a given day! Although I have not been able to attain 10,000 steps every day, I have made it over 10,000 twice! And many more days being very close to the 10,000 mark. So, step by step, one day at a time, I'm trekking across town in hopes of leaving behind a few pounds!

I've Been Tagged!

Angela over at The Country Cellar has given me "The Sparkle Award"! Now it's my turn to tag Christie with the Sparkle Award! This is a "first" for me, so I'm not sure what all I should do for this! LOL!!! I admit I'm not very computer savvy...or blog savvy, for that matter!

He Is Risen, Just As He Said

A Joyous Resurrection Day to You!

The following is several stanzas from the song, "In Christ Alone" by Stuart Townsend and Keith Getty, one of my favorite modern worship songs:

In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in Glorious Day
Up from the grave He arose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

They say, in Missouri, if you wait a little while, the weather will change! And change it has! The sun is shining, the winds have stopped, and the temperature is to reach the 60's today! Yippee! I was able to start the 4" double pinwheel blocks for the May retreat. They are so much fun to make...I only need 16 to swap out, so will make a few extra for myself to add to the ones I swap at retreat! Hoping to get these completed today!

We are always working on "fixing up" Greggor House! Our home was built around 1870, and was last "updated" in the 1970's by the previous owner. When we purchased the home, the upstairs had no electricity, so my husband has had to run new electrical lines. As the existing sub-panel was too small for all of the new circuits, a new, larger sub-panel was purchased and installed yesterday. After hours of work transferring wires and whatnot, hubby powered up the new panel....and it didn't work!! UGHHH!!!! To make a long story short, the main breaker was faulty. Fortunately, we were able to take just the breaker back to the store for an exchange! My husband heaved a huge sigh of relief...and we now have power! Now to repair the wall that had to be opened for all of the new wiring!

It's a cold, windy day here in Northern Missouri making Greggor House quite drafty! The add-on wood furnace has a hard time keeping up, or at least I have a hard time keeping wood on the fire! But I settled into my favorite chair this morning and sewed the binding on a quilt for my local Project Linus chapter. The quilt warmed me up to have it sit on my lap, and I'm praying it will provide equal warmth and comfort to an area child in need.

Now I need to move on to the next quilt project, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at where to start. I'm a list-maker, but sometimes I have too many "To Do" lists going, further compounding the decision-making! I think the old adage..."one step at a time"...would apply here. So, the next step is making some pinwheel blocks for an upcoming retreat. These will be made of 30's reproduction fabrics and will be so sweet when finished. The finished blocks will then be swapped out at the retreat!
